As most tales of you can still have fantastic couch multiplayer, expect great replayability from the NG+, unlocked difficulties, numerous Ex dungeons, and a lots of things to unlock. Story wise it's pretty simple, it's mostly about people figure it out and an adventure in the classic sense, it wasn't as groundbreaking as other tales of, but servicable. Add to that 9 playable characters and you have the most diverse cast and a lot to learn if you want to vary your play style. Battle Wise the game is more clunky in first few hours than most tales of, but open up much more in the end, which gives a fantastic sense of progression through the game and in the challenge keeps up, to max level in the endgame challenges. The characters are overall pretty good, Yuri put a great dynamic with the team and each character feel very distinct. ![]() I feel like this game gave me everything I wanted "more of" tales of symphonia. I'll be expecting more for the sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The long awaited Complete Version of Tales of Vesperia! It feel SO GOOD to finally have a lot of costumes to unlock, finally a lots of The long awaited Complete Version of Tales of Vesperia! It feel SO GOOD to finally have a lot of costumes to unlock, finally a lots of sidequest to find out when you replay, finally a lots of optional content and bosses. Although this game is an example of good old RPG, but it feels like the game itself came out short. If you expect too much of this game, you'll get disappointed. To tell the truth, this has one of the most complex story in the Tales of series. The Verdict: The game is good, but not great. Sometimes i find myself wondering where should i go next because there are like multiple routes to take. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it gives you an unclear next destination. (Like whether you want to take a unicorn horn first or the book on the Tower.) You can do either first or later. Which supposed to be a good thing, but this only works for the order of the main storyline. No one would be able to use the mystic artes if they didn't read any walkthrough. And there are no tutorials regarding that one. (Except for Sheena, since her Mystic Artes is the Summon). You need to clear some condition to make Mystic Artes available. Which makes it really really troublesome. The problem is you can only go to the other world through a certain part in the world map. As you know, later in the game you can go around between two worlds, Sylvarant & The'tealla. Traveling between two worlds is super troublesome. ![]() That's really annoyiing, considering the map is quite large and NPC can move around freely, but not the character you are controlling. You can only move forward & back, and you can't run around the map as you like. This game has a 2D linear battle system, but the battle map is 3D. Minus point: - Worst battle system ever in the history of Tales of. Which is totally awesome! One of the plus point for English translated JRPG. Dual voice option! Not only they translated this game into English, but they also included the Dual Voice options. Of course this is an HD Remake version, so i don't expect much of an upgrade in the graphic part, but this is enough to raise my tension. The characters are chibis, and also a very colorful world. Plus point: - Finally an old school RPG! As you know, Tales of series always brings out the best experience in JRPG. Play & find out the fate of Lloyd and his friends in saving the world. But what's waiting in front of them, is more than they could imagine. Together with her childhood friend, Lloyd & Genis, and also a Mercenary called Kratos & Genis' sister, Raine, they started the journey to regenerate the world. Collete, the chosen one, have to travel all over Sylvarant, releasing the seal to change herself into an Angel & regenerate the world. I never played the game before, so it's kinda fresh playing the new HD Remastered version. Collete, Finished Tales of Symphonia last week. ![]()
